Staff Software Engineer, CSP Core Service Experience (GenAI) at Airbnb

Airbnb is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join the Community Support Platform (CSP) Core Service Experience team. This team builds and maintains the core software and tools used by over 18,000 support ambassadors globally. The role focuses on leveraging GenAI technologies and data systems to drive innovation in Airbnb's customer support systems, ultimately improving the experience for both guests and hosts.

Key Responsibilities
Thought Leadership and Strategy: Provide thought leadership, define strategy, and drive architectural decisions.

Technical Initiative Leadership: Lead multi-team technical initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally to identify business impact opportunities and prioritize requirements.

GenAI Implementation: Use expertise in data and GenAI to help define product direction and implement cutting-edge product features.

Mentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers through design reviews, code walkthroughs, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Systemic Improvement: Drive systemic improvements by identifying patterns to streamline development, reduce toil, and increase technical quality.

Required Expertise
Experience: 11+ years in a hands-on software engineering role.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills: Experience with data systems, working with ML engineering, and leveraging GenAI to build product features.

Leadership: Hands-on experience leading project teams, setting technical direction, and mentoring engineers.
