Sr. Responsible AI Researcher, AI.x

Charles Schwab's AI Strategy & Transformation team (AI.x) serves as the central hub for AI initiatives, integrating product, engineering, strategy, and risk functions to advance AI across the company, including building research platforms and exploring next-generation generative AI. Responsibilities include bridging regulation, ethics, and technical innovation; designing guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring systems for fairness and trust; collaborating across teams to address responsible AI challenges; implementing bias detection methods; and innovating solutions for emerging AI risks. Requirements: Master's or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; 10+ years in AI ethics or research (academic experience counts); expertise in fairness, robustness, or interpretability; experience with generative AI risks; strong analytical and communication skills. Preferred: 7+ years in AI/ML development with Python; familiarity with regulatory frameworks; publications in AI safety; experience with LLMs and production deployments; data science skills including SQL and visualization; knowledge of financial products.
