This role is for a Network Engineer to spearhead the development of high-performance, scalable networking infrastructure tailored for AI-driven cloud environments at a rapidly growing, publicly traded company. The position focuses on architecting and fine-tuning network solutions across geographically distributed data centers to support AI workloads (training, fine-tuning, and inference) across bare metal, VMs, and containerized platforms. You will collaborate with infrastructure, GPU, and platform engineering teams to deliver ultra-low latency and high-throughput systems for next-generation AI clusters.
Important Notes
You must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
Architect robust, high-throughput data center network fabrics optimized for AI workloads.
Design and deploy EVPN/VXLAN overlays, L2/L3 switching topologies, and host-level multi-networking.
Implement BGP, VRFs, and ACLs to enforce network segmentation and tenant isolation.
Lead the end-to-end design of advanced GPU interconnect fabrics (e.g., Infiniband, RoCEv2, DPUs/Smart NICs).
Build and maintain carrier-grade edge routing systems with BGP-based peering and automatic failover.
Manage inter-data center connectivity, routing governance, and resilience strategies.
Define and implement SDN architectures for dynamic network orchestration.
Requirements
Required Experience:
5+ years of experience in data center or service provider networking.
Proven expertise in high-speed Ethernet architectures (100G-800G), advanced routing/switching (EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, OSPF), and high-performance fabrics for AI/HPC (Infiniband, RoCEv2).
Experience with multi-host networking across bare metal, KVM, and Kubernetes.
Experience designing GPU cluster networks with technologies like NVIDIA UFM.
Proficient with infrastructure automation tools (Netbox, Ansible, Terraform).
Practical knowledge of vendor platforms like Arista EOS, Juniper Junos, and NVIDIA Cumulus/Onyx.
Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with AI/ML workload patterns.
Experience developing or integrating SDN controllers using Python.
A background in multi-tenant cloud networking (PaaS or IaaS).
Certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or comparable credentials.
