Role Overview
OpenAI is looking for a Frontend Engineer to join the Applications Engineering organization. This team builds the user interfaces for high-visibility products like ChatGPT and the OpenAI API. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and millions of global users, partnering with design and research teams to ensure the technology is accessible, responsive, and intuitive.

Key Responsibilities
Core Development: Build and maintain scalable web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

Infrastructure: Create reusable UI components and frontend infrastructure to accelerate development velocity across the organization.

Optimization: Ensure client-side performance and accessibility across various browsers and devices.

Design Partnership: Work closely with designers to implement intuitive interfaces with high design fidelity.

Product Strategy: Contribute to end-to-end product planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications
Experience: Up to 6 years of professional experience building production web applications.

Technical Stack: Fluency in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and modern web tooling.

Focus Areas: A deep care for design fidelity, performance, and accessibility.

Work Style: Ability to iterate quickly to deliver polished, user-focused features.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: Listed at $255,000.
