About the Role
Dorbeleit Consulting is hiring on behalf of a client that is redefining mobility in East Africa with affordable, intelligent, and climate-friendly electric motorcycles for the boda boda and delivery markets. Their tech platform already supports battery swaps, mobile money payments (M-PESA), fleet analytics, and real-time operations.

They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their small, elite team as a generalist. You will be responsible for building the next generation of their platform, combining robust engineering with AI and emerging tech (including crypto) to power real-world impact at scale. You will touch every part of the stack and help shape the future of mobility for the next billion users.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and scale Django APIs and services for web and mobile apps.

Build and support features in the Android ReactNative mobile app.

Work with PostgreSQL data models to manage everything from telemetry to payments.

Deploy code to AWS or DigitalOcean and help shape the future cloud architecture.

Design and prototype AI-powered features (e.g., route optimization, performance prediction, rider matching, smart battery analytics).

Help architect systems for crypto payment integration and future token-based features.

Build internal tools to support operations, customer support, and maintenance workflows.

Pitch in where needed, including testing, ops, support, and architecture.

Requirements
5+ years of experience building and deploying software in production.

Fluent in Python, Django, React, and PostgreSQL.

Hands-on experience deploying and monitoring systems in AWS or a similar cloud environment like Digital Ocean.

Have built at least one Android app (either native Kotlin or cross-platform like React Native).

Experience—or a strong interest—in building AI/ML features or working with data pipelines.
