        This role is within the Machine Learning Supply Chain and Operations (MLSCO) team, specifically the Product Engineering team. This group is responsible for the deployment of Machine Learning capacity in Google's Fleet and leads the delivery of next-generation ML systems from concept to end-of-life. They are a crucial part of the Technical Infrastructure team, solving complex problems to bring advanced hardware designs to life at a massive scale.
About the Role
As a Senior Product Engineer, you will be part of the team developing custom silicon solutions that power Google's products. You will be instrumental in bringing new designs to life by influencing design decisions, managing manufacturing risks, and ensuring product quality and reliability from the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase through to mass production.
Responsibilities
Lead the technology assessment for new products, working with the product team to influence design decisions and develop manufacturing risk mitigation plans.
Collaborate with Quality and Reliability Engineers to set NPI and production goals for yield and long-term reliability.
Lead cross-functional teams to resolve component and build quality issues during NPI build phases.
Provide on-site and remote support for pre-production builds, ensuring factory readiness, supporting line bring-up, and driving yield analysis to improve product quality.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in manufacturing.
Experience in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and related system assembly.
Experience in design for manufacturability and serviceability.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or a related engineering field.
10 years of experience at a company developing supply chains for manufacturing and testing.
Experience working with Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) and contract manufacturers for data center server accelerator products (GPU, FPGA, or ASIC).
Experience working with manufacturers and suppliers to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Knowledge of SQL queries and scripting in Python or Bash.
