Research Intern, Machine Learning for Computer Vision and Generative AI: Futurewei Technologies, Inc.

Futurewei is seeking Research Interns for the Fall/Winter 2025 term to work with a diverse group of researchers on innovating and advancing novel computer vision and generative AI solutions for next-generation consumer applications. The role involves pushing forward the research and development of cutting-edge generative machine learning (ML), computer vision (CV), and computer graphics (CG). Interns will play a significant role in developing novel algorithms, creating innovative system solutions and open-source prototypes, generating patents, and publishing findings in well-known conferences and journals.

Requirements
A Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related technical discipline.

Proven hands-on experience with state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms, especially with generative ML and/or fine-tuning of LLMs/LVMs.

Familiarity with ML implementation platforms such as PyTorch and/or Tensorflow.

Familiarity with the ML algorithm and application development lifecycle (data acquisition, model design, testing, etc.).

Strong programming skills in Python or C/C++ for Windows and/or Linux are required.

Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in computer vision and computer graphics is a plus.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
