Job Title: Staff Software Engineer, AI/ML, Geo: Google

This role requires a combination of technical hands-on implementation and high-level project leadership.

Large Scale Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large scale software solutions.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Facilitate alignment and clarity across distributed teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines; influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.

ML System Design: Lead the design and implementation of solutions in specialized ML areas.

ML Infrastructure: Optimize ML infrastructure and guide the development of model optimization and data processing strategies (e.g., model deployment, debugging, fine tuning).

🎓 Qualifications and Experience
The minimum qualifications outline a demanding senior profile, requiring focused experience in both general software development and specialized ML systems.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience in software development.

5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure (model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, etc.).

5 years of experience in one or more of the following specialized ML domains:

Speech/Audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice).

Reinforcement Learning (e.g., sequential decision making).

ML Infrastructure.

Specialization in another ML field relevant to large-scale Geo problems.

3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.

3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional projects.
