The City of Fort Worth is seeking an IT Solutions Architect for a newly created position expected to take a leadership role in the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The primary objective of this role is to define AI governance and guide leadership in choosing compatible technologies. This involves leading the effort to implement an AI Governance board and a detailed policy around the use of AI within the City. The architect will be an advocate for other city departments, understanding their needs and how AI can assist in city workflows.

The selected candidate must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain eligibility. Specific convictions will result in disqualification.
Responsibilities
Help define AI architecture and guide leaders and decision-makers in choosing compatible technologies.
Work with departments to identify business processes that can benefit from AI and recommend solutions.
Collaborate with security professionals to manage potential risks and implement AI technologies ethically.
Develop AI models, systems, and infrastructure to help drive organizational improvements.
Work with data scientists and leaders to support digital transformation.
Build systems that can be integrated into existing departmental or company systems.
Implement machine learning models and convert them into APIs for various uses.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelorβs degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, business, or a related field.
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in technology automation and innovation.
A valid Driverβs License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance.
Experience with risk assessments and monitoring around AI technology.
Practical experience with AI and machine learning technologies.
Hands-on experience drafting policies, procedures, and technical specification documents.
Experience leading stakeholder meetings to ensure regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with data management, data science concepts, and AI programming languages like Python and Java.
Familiarity with container management platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
