GovAI is seeking a Hiring Manager to take full ownership of the organization's recruitment function. This is a high-leverage role, responsible for ensuring GovAI can consistently identify and attract top-tier talent in the specialized field of AI governance. You will lead the hiring strategy, manage the recruitment team, and solve the unique challenges that come with processing thousands of applications for highly sought-after positions. This position offers a high degree of autonomy to experiment and implement new, creative solutions to improve the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the Hiring Team: You will lead a team of 2-3 staff members, providing mentorship and overseeing their work.

Oversee Hiring Operations: You will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of 3-4 simultaneous hiring rounds, a volume that is expected to increase.

Improve the Hiring Function: You will creatively solve the challenge of vetting large numbers of applications to identify the best candidates without compromising quality.

Project Manage Rounds: Initially, you will directly manage a hiring round to learn the organization's processes, using their applicant tracking system, Airtable.

Contribute to Strategy: You will help shape GovAI's internal approach to AI adoption and contribute to broader organizational goals.

Organizational Skills: Highly organized and able to manage many moving parts and simultaneous projects.

People Skills: Strong interpersonal communication and people management abilities.

Experience:

Experience running hiring rounds, especially with high volumes of candidates, is preferred but not required.

Familiarity with Airtable or similar systems is also preferred.

Background: An ideal candidate may come from a background as a hiring manager in AI or tech, a research manager with extensive hiring experience, or someone who has led a process-heavy function in a rapidly scaling organization.
