The Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) Division at the University of Michigan is conducting two separate faculty searches for the 2025 hiring cycle.
1. Tenured Position in AI Foundations
The ECE division invites applications for a full-time, tenured faculty position at the level of associate professor or full professor (advanced assistant professors will also be considered).
Responsibilities: This role will focus on foundational work in artificial intelligence and/or statistical machine learning. The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated outstanding research accomplishment, excellence in teaching, and a commitment to service. This position is part of a cluster hire with the Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science departments.
Requirements: A Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field. Submitted materials should include a cover letter, current CV, a statement of research plans, and a statement of teaching philosophy.
2. Open-rank Tenure Track Positions
The ECE division invites applications across all areas of electrical and computer engineering for multiple full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty positions.
Responsibilities: Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, actively engage in service, and contribute to broadening the intellectual diversity of the ECE division.
Requirements: A relevant doctorate or equivalent experience and an outstanding record of research in academia, industry, and/or at national laboratories.
