Role Overview
The Atlas engineering team is building OpenAI's vision for the future of web browsing. Atlas is an AI-native browser designed to bring ChatGPT's intelligence directly into the user's workflow across the web. Rather than switching between tabs or copying and pasting text, Atlas understands the context of the page the user is on and completes tasks autonomously.

As the Engineering Manager for Atlas, you will lead the technical execution and team growth for this high-stakes project, transforming a browser into a proactive AI assistant.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage and grow a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and a coaching mindset.

Technical Execution: Drive complex, cross-functional projects to ensure Atlas is scalable, reliable, and provides a world-class user experience.

Strategic Direction: Collaborate with Product, Design, and Research teams to define the long-term roadmap for AI-enabled browsing.

Recruitment: Lead hiring and onboarding efforts, identifying and closing competitive candidates to scale the team.

Process Improvement: Implement engineering practices that increase team effectiveness in a rapidly changing environment.

Qualifications
Management Experience: 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams in fast-paced, high-performance environments.

Technical Depth: 5+ years of experience in either distributed systems at scale OR building installed/native applications (browsers, desktop apps, etc.).

Adaptability: Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and lead teams through rapidly changing product requirements.

Coaching: A strong track record of mentoring engineers to reach their peak potential and delivering impactful software.

Cash & Equity: Base salary of $325K – $490K plus significant equity in the form of Profit Participation Units.
