Domain Expert - Law: Staffed via HireArt

HireArt is sourcing Domain Experts in Law for a 10-week independent contract. The role involves assisting in the evaluation and design of legally complex AI tasks, requiring high legal precision and analytical reasoning across contracts, compliance, and legal interpretation.

This is a flexible, remote position for 10-40 hours per week. Candidates must be able to work 5-7 hours per day on their own schedule.

This is a task-based position, and task availability will depend on business needs.

This is an independent contract position.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and cannot be based in California or Illinois.

Responsibilities
Design challenging, field-relevant legal problems based on visuals, prompts, datasets, or model outputs.

Evaluate AI-generated responses using detailed rubrics.

Write or improve evaluation rubrics for complex legal tasks.

Stress-test model reasoning in research contexts.

Provide clear, structured feedback on model performance.

Requirements
J.D. or equivalent degree.

5+ years’ experience practicing law, ideally in a corporate setting.

Experience evaluating or testing LLM outputs in legal domains.

Strong writing, analysis, and reasoning skills.

Comfortable working asynchronously with strong self-direction.

A reliable computer and internet connection.
