Developer Communications & Community Manager: OpenAI

This position is responsible for building and scaling OpenAI's global developer ecosystem. You will be the "primary steward" of the developer voice within the company, managing high-stakes programs like Developer Labs and Early Access. The role sits at the intersection of communications, product, and developer experience, requiring you to translate technical feedback into product improvements while crafting narratives that inspire developers to build on the platform.

Key Responsibilities
Manage Developer Programs: Own the end-to-end operations of the Developer Labs & Early Access program, including selecting cohorts, onboarding participants, and synthesizing their feedback.

Feedback Loop: Act as the bridge between external developers and internal Product/Engineering teams, ensuring developer insights directly influence product roadmaps.

Content Creation: Partner with Marketing and DevEx to co-create tutorials, demos, and launch content that showcases real-world workflows and clarifies product value.

Community Engagement: Manage engagement across OpenAI’s developer platforms (forums, Discord, etc.) to ensure high-quality, inclusive technical discussions.

Strategic Growth: Foster relationships with developer influencers and drive engagement for emerging tools like Codex and open-weight models.

Requirements
Experience: 7+ years in developer relations, developer marketing, or developer communications.

Technical Fluency: Strong understanding of the AI startup landscape, technical concepts, and developer workflows.

Program Management: Proven track record of designing and scaling developer programs from the ground up.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Bonus Skills: Ability to code and/or fluency in SQL is listed as a "nice to have."
