This position is for a senior operations research analyst who will serve as a subject matter expert in Artificial Intelligence. The primary purpose is to provide expertise in initiating, applying, and planning major developmental studies. The role involves using scientific and analytical techniques to evaluate projects, reviewing reports for methodological adequacy, and serving as a technical consultant to senior officials.

Eligibility & Important Notes:

This position is open ONLY to current permanent Department of Defense (DoD) Federal Government employees.

An appropriate security clearance will be required for the position.

Responsibilities (Duties):

Employ scientific and analytical techniques to define, quantify, and evaluate the feasibility of assigned projects and studies.

Review study projects, proposals, and reports for adequacy of methodology, including the use of computerized models.

Serve as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and agency officials.

Attend meetings, conferences, and briefings related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts.

Requirements (Qualifications):

Basic Requirement: A degree in operations research OR at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, science, or related courses, including at least 3 semester hours in calculus.

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. This includes experience in complex analytical work, applying scientific techniques to evaluate projects, identifying problems, recommending solutions to senior officials, and advising on methodologies.

Knowledge of a broad range of methods in advanced operations research studies.

Ability to develop and use quantitative techniques and models to resolve problems.

Ability to participate in study teams, originate new ideas, and execute projects within constraints.
