AI Security Developer at Charles Schwab

This position is with the Schwab Cybersecurity Services (SCS), specifically within the AI Security Engineering Team. This specialized group is responsible for securing the design, deployment, and operation of AI systems across the enterprise.

As an AI Security Developer, you will work closely with senior developers to build and maintain Schwab's internal AI security libraries, ensuring a security-first approach in all coding decisions.

Responsibilities
Build and maintain the internal AI security libraries.

Develop validators for prompt inputs.

Create output guards to prevent insecure execution.

Support redaction and PII-protection features.

Write unit tests to maintain code quality.

Assist in integrating the libraries with developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and common frameworks to improve adoption.

Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Basic programming skills in Java, .NET, or Python.

An understanding of secure coding principles and OWASP basics.

Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD tools.

Exposure to or strong interest in cloud AI/ML frameworks (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, GCP Vertex AI).

A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to write clean, testable code and an eagerness to learn.
