The AI Engineer (Vice President) at Citi is responsible for the design and development of novel AI/ML solutions using large language models and agentic frameworks to address business use cases. The role involves enabling AI application hosting in on-premises, public cloud, or hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of AI/ML solutions, Generative AI, microservices architectures, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and operate AI solutions, including inference, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, and observability.
Leverage open-source and commercial large language models (LLMs) and SaaS/PaaS technologies (e.g., Llama, Gemini, Vertex AI, OpenAI) to build AI solutions.
Introduce optimization techniques to improve the performance, scalability, and latency of large-scale AI systems.
Contribute to driving the strategy and roadmap for evolving Citiβs AI ecosystem.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in AI technologies and apply them to build cutting-edge solutions.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Hands-on experience developing AI systems for real-world use cases.
Knowledge of GenAI services on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Understanding of platform architecture, high availability, fail-over, and disaster recovery planning.
Working knowledge of container technologies, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with AI/ML algorithms, LLM inferencing and fine-tuning, and vector stores using Python, Java, or similar languages.
Knowledge of business intelligence solutions like Tableau or Qlik and analytics solutions like H2O, Dataiku, or Google Vertex AI.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience managing vendor interactions.
Education:
A Bachelor's/University degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
